This 10 day tour by coach, which has been covered by the Times Educational Supplement and featured on BBC2, is a comprehensive insight into Hitler’s State from the seizure of power in 1933 to the war crimes tribunal in 1945.
You will visit the rally grounds, concentration camps, ghettos and other key sites of historical importance. This tour is a fantastic experience for pupils and teachers alike!

Travel to Dover for ferry to Calais. Continue overnight.
Arrive Nuremberg mid-morning. Afternoon visit to the Third Reich Documentation Centre.
Morning visit to the courtroom used for the War Crimes Trials. Followed by a guided walking tour of Luitpoldhain the scene of the immense rallies during the years of Nazi supremacy. Continue to Prague.
Morning guided walking tour of Prague including the Hrad (Prague Castle) Charles Bridge and the Old Town Square. Afternoon guided walking tour of Josefov the old Jewish quarter preserved on Hitler’s orders to be a memorial to a people which no longer existed.
Morning by coach to the site of the village of Lidice razed to the ground in reprisal for the assassination of Heydrich in 1942 for visits to the memorial and museum. Then to Terezín (Theresienstadt) for visits to the Ghetto Museum and the Small Fortress. Here many thousands of Jews were held in conditions specially created for Red Cross visitors – before being transported eastwards to the camps in Poland.
Travel from Prague to Krakow in Poland.
Extended guided tour of the camps of Auschwitz and Birkenau whose very names perhaps convey to us the full atrocity of the Nazi era. Afternoon departure and overnight stop in Wrocław.
Continue to Berlin with a guided visit to the Holocaust Memorial on arrival.
Morning free for last minute shopping. Rejoin your coach for a guided visit of the Wannsee Conference House. Here in 1942 the fate of Europe’s Jews was decided at a meeting of leading Nazis including Heydrich and Eichmann. Depart for Calais.
Early morning ferry and return to school.
