Take a combined trip to Chester (Castra Deva) and Hadrian’s Wall to uncover what life was really like on a Roman frontier. A programme jam packed with educational talks led by experts oozing with enthusiasm. 3D films and sparkling new visitor centres, students will not fail to be inspired by Roman Britain.
Day 1, Depart school. Arrive in Chester to visit the Roman Amphitheatre the largest in Britain and The Grosvenor Museum to find out more about the history of the city including fascinating Roman displays. Evening meal at a local restaurant
Day 2, Morning drive to Hadrian’s Wall. Visit the Roman Army Museum to experience life as a Roman soldier and enjoy a 3D film. Evening meal at a local restaurant.
Day 3, Morning visit to Vindolanda with an educational talk included. This is followed by visiting Housesteads Roman Fort to see the ruins and imagine life as a soldier here. Depart for school.
