This multi centre tour offers an unforgettable experience to explore two of the most dynamic and powerful cities in the world. Combining the global powerhouse that is NYC with the majestic Washington DC, this tour can be tailored to cover several topics of history.
Day 1, Flight to Washington DC. Met by our Welcome Guide and transfer to your hotel. Optional: Meal at Planet Hollywood
Day 2, Visit to the United States official memorial to the Holocaust – The Holocaust Memorial Museum providing opportunities for the study and interpretation of Holocaust history
Day 3, Visit to the White House Visitors Centre* to explore the displays on many aspects of White House history and international relations; followed by tours of the meeting points of the Judicial and the Legislative branches of the United States Government – The Supreme Court and The Capitol Building*.
Day 4, Travel by coach to New York via Philadelphia for a visit to The Constitution Centre (The World’s only museum dedicated to the story and relevance of the United States) and Independence Hall (home to the Liberty Bell). Alternatively travel via Gettysburg National Military Park to explore the battlefield sites and see where Lincoln made his famous address. On arrival in New York visit the Empire State Building for a breathtaking view of Manhattan and beyond.
Day 5, Guided city tour by coach finishing at Ground Zero. This tour can be tailored to your group’s preferences. Statue of Liberty Cruise stopping off at Ellis Island for the Immigration Museum – once the first stop for over 12 million immigrants.
Day 6, Guided walking tour focusing on Civil Rights. Visit to the Tenement Museum to investigate the challenges faced by immigrants during the Great Depression.
Day 7, Free time for photo opportunities and shopping. Transfer to a New York airport for your return flight to the UK.
Day 8, Arrive back in the UK.
