Paris is home to some wonderful museums and galleries for art groups. It is also possible to focus your tour on the Impressionists, and gain an understanding of the movement from a social, historical and artistic perspective.

Where Van Gogh spent the final months of his life and painted some of his best known works. While here, you will recognise many scenes from his paintings. - Espace Dali

Located in central Paris and housing artworks from the 15th-18th Centuries, as well as a 19th Century house. It includes French, Dutch, English and Italian Renaissance paintings. - Louvre
One of the most famous museums in the world and home to the enigmatic Mona Lisa. - Monet's House and Gardens
An excursion to nearby Giverney will enable you to visit his house and gardens, which were considered by his friends to be his greatest masterpiece. - Musée du Luxembourg

The exhibits date from 1848 to 1914, neatly containing the precursors of Impressionism, the height of the Movement and its offshoots such as pointillism, and ending at the beginning of the modern age. - Museum of Modern Art
In the Pompidou Centre, with a span from Picasso and Matisse to Francis Bacon and Warhol. - Picasso Museum
