Blue Reef Aquarium, Newquay

CORNWALL

With its dramatic coastline, beautiful beaches and warmer climate (although we can't promise anything!), Cornwall is an ideal destination for school groups wishing to stay in the UK.

  • Blue Reef Aquarium
Home to local marine species from the Cornish coast as well as hundreds of tropical species in the gigantic ocean display complete with underwater tunnel. Themed guided tours and workshops are available.
  • Eden Project
We would suggest a full day's visit here, and a number of Key Stage specific workshops are available.
  • Future World
Goonhilly is the largest satellite earth station in the world, with over 60 dishes. Future World is a multi-media visitor centre explaining international communications – you can meet a robot, see the future with 3D television and even attempt to email an alien.
  • National Maritime Museum
Discover the world of Cornish maritime history - go underwater in the Tidal Zone or captain your own boat at the Waterfront interactive display.
  • National Seal Sanctuary
A rescue, rehabilitation and release centre for injured seals.
  • Newquay Zoo
A number of workshops are available to school groups.
  • Tate St Ives
A branch of the world-famous Tate galleries, offering an introduction to modern and contemporary art.
